Salata cu hering/Herring salad

Ingrediente:

 

·       200 g file de hering (sarat sau afumat, dupa preferinta), taiat bucati mici;

·       100 g masline intregi;

·       2 morcovi, taiati rondele subtiri;

·       1 ceapa mica, taiata julienne;

·       2 fire de ceapa verde (optional), taiate rondele;

·       2 linguri otet (preferabil otet de mere sau de vin alb);

·       3 linguri ulei de masline;

·       Sare si piper (dupa gust).

Mod de preparare:

 

1.     Pregatirea ingredientelor:

o   Taie fileurile de hering in bucati mici.

o   Taie morcovii rondele subtiri.

o   Taie ceapa julienne (fasii subtiri).

o   Daca doresti, taie ceapa verde rondele.

2.     Asamblarea salatei:

o   Intr-un bol mare, pune bucatile de hering, maslinele intregi, morcovii rondele, ceapa julienne si, optional, ceapa verde.

3.     Prepararea dressing-ului:

o   Intr-un bol mic, combina otetul cu uleiul de masline. Adauga sare si piper dupa gust si amesteca bine.

4.     Amestecarea salatei:

o   Toarna dressing-ul peste salata si amesteca usor pentru a combina ingredientele fara a le zdrobi.

5.     Servirea:

o   Lasa salata sa stea 5-10 minute la temperatura camerei pentru ca aromele sa se imbine. Serveste simpla sau cu paine proaspata.

• 2 carrots, sliced into thin rounds;

• 1 small onion, cut into julienne slices;

• 2 green onions (optional), sliced into rounds;

• 2 tablespoons vinegar (preferably apple cider or white wine vinegar);

• 3 tablespoons olive oil;

• Salt and pepper (to taste).

Method of preparation:

 

1.    Preparing the ingredients:

o Cut the herring fillets into small pieces.

o Slice the carrots into thin rounds.

o Cut the onion into julienne slices (thin strips).

o If desired, slice the green onions into rounds.

 

2.   Assembling the salad:

o In a large bowl, combine the herring pieces, whole olives, carrot slices, julienne onion, and optional green onions.

 

3.   Preparing the dressing:

o In a small bowl, mix the vinegar with olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste and stir well.

 

4.   Mixing the salad:

o Pour the dressing over the salad and gently toss to combine the ingredients without crushing them.

 

5.    Serving:

o Let the salad sit for 5-10 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld. Serve plain or with fresh bread.
